Join me on a fast paced/fitness hike on the Smith Creek Trail to beautiful Anna Ruby Falls. We enjoy the sounds of Smith Creek on the first half of our trek to the falls before we climb to Hickory Ridge and enjoy some views of the valley and the roar of the falls in the distance. We will stop for lunch at the falls. From there we can decide if we want to head down to the Visitor Center and back up to the falls or linger a while over lunch.

We will then retrace our steps back to our cars in the campground of Unicoi State Park.

In order to get back home on time, we will be moving quickly with an average of 3.0 mph with short breaks for water and a break for lunch at the falls.

To join the fun you must have recent mountain hiking experience. This hike is a D4 hike, but the pace will be at the level of D5 hiking.  The trip leader reserves the right to move hikers to the wait list if there is doubt regarding fitness and pace.
