Itinerary:

 

 

We will meet at the Visitor Center at 9:20 for a restroom break and introductions. We will hike the North and South Rim Trails and take the Hurricane Trail down into the Gorge. The Hurricane Trail has 1,099 steps. None of these trails require a permit to hike. The total distance is about 5 miles. 

      The North Rim Trail has six scenic overlooks. They are:

Inspiration Point – Of Oceana Falls

View of Oceana Falls with Bridal Veil Falls

View of L’Eau d’Or Falls and Top of Tempesta Falls, Hawthorne & Cascade and Pool

View of L’Eau d’Or Falls and Hawthorne Pool

Good View of Tallulah Falls Dam

View of Upper Gorge, and Hawthorne Pool, and Overlooks 2 & 3

      The South Rim Trail has five scenic overlooks. They are:

      We will be stopping at these so that we all may enjoy the views.

PARKING PASSES:  Each driver is responsible for paying the $5 per vehicle per day self-service State Park parking fee (or displaying instead from your rear-view mirror a valid annual GA-DNR parking pass - available for sale at the park Visitor Center).

Keep left on I-985 to Gainesville 23.8 miles

Continue on US-23 N 41.0 miles

Turn right onto Jane Hurt Yarn Road 0.5 mikes

Slight right onto Jane Hurt Yarn Road 0.5 miles

Destination is on the right
