Itinerary:

We'll hike a little over 3 miles of the Benton MacKaye Trail in the Chattahoochie National Forest to the 260-foot suspension bridge spanning the Toccoa river. We'll cross the bridge and build a little fire alongside the river to warm ourselves and roast marshmallows (provided).

This is not a fitness hike. We plan to set a slow-to-moderate pace and do the hike as a group. Plan on 6.5 miles round-trip. We should be back to the Park & Ride by 6 so there's no need for anyone to turn down a party invitation :)

Extra credit if you show up wearing a Santa hat!

Due to very limited parking at the trailhead, we want to limit the number of cars. Therefore, there will be no 'Meet at the Event' option. Everyone will be required to carpool both ways.

Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $64.00 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.
