Itinerary:
This hike will cover around 14 miles over varied terrain from flat to steep and rocky.  Must be in good condition, and have very good balance walking over rocks.

Hike the full length of Fiery Gizzard Trail plus overlook sections, starting at Foster Falls Small Wild Area and finishing at Grundy Forest State Park in Tracy City, TN

We will start out hiking the "climbers Trail" to the bottom of the falls.  From Foster Falls parking area, we will head to the Foster Falls Overlook.  At the Overlook we may head down to the base of the falls on the "Climber's Trail"  and loop back up to the top of the plateau.  Along the top of the Cumberland Plateau we will pass the Lichen Rock Overlook, Small Wild Overlook, Laurel Gorge Overlook, an old moonshine still, Anderson Falls, and finally the Foster Falls Overlook.  The first 9 miles of Fiery Gizzard will be mostly flat easy and scenic along the top of the Plateau.  We will make a side trip to the Ravens Point Overlook.  The remaining 4.5 miles we will descend to the bottom of the gorge, and follow the Fiery Gizzard Creek upstream to the Grundy Forest Park. The trail down the gorge and next to the creek is very rocky, so good balance is required. We may catch up with the with the loop hike group along this section.

We plan to join the Fiery Grizzard Hike #1 (Loop Hike) at the Carpool meeting point and again at the end of the hike to share vehicle resources and avoid car-shuttling (Less time driving and standing around!)  You can help help out with logistics by permitting another participant on Fiery Gizzard Hike #1 to drive your vehicle from Foster Falls to Grundy Forest State Park where will will begin.
