Itinerary:

We'll do about 6 miles but will not go over the mountain.

Please arrive by 9:45am.  We will start promptly at 10:00am

We are STARTING IN THE BACK OF THE OVERFLOW PARKING LOT, then going to the visitor center with a quick bathroom stop.  We'll then go around the mountain on the Brumby Trail to Burnt Hickory Rd.  We'll crossover to the Salem Church loop to the Burnt Hickory parking lot. Then up Pigeon Hill to reconnect to the Brumby Trail and back to the Visitor Center.

We will be staying together through the hike.  The goal is to complete the hike in under 3 hours.  This will be shooting for about a 2 mph pace.

It will be chilly in the morning.  Probably close to freezing when we start, warming only to about 35 when we finish.  Dress appropriately.

There is a parking fee!  See below for details.

Required Items to Bring:

If you don't have a parking pass, arrive early and allow time to purchase a parking pass.

There is a $5.00 daily parking fee unless you have an annual pass.  If you need to purchase a day parking pass you can do so at the kiosk in the overflow parking lot. Annual passes can be purchased from 9:00 to 5:00 at the visitor center for $40

Water

Layered clothing

Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.

Some dry clothing for after the hike.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:

1) I-75 North to exit 267B Hwy 5 Canton Road Connector

2) If you are not heading west after getting off of the Interstate you are going the wrong way.  You should be heading towards US 41 and downtown Marietta after getting off of I-75 onto the Canton Road Connector and see Kennesaw Mountain on your right.

3) You will be tempted to take the first exit off of the Canton Road Connector which is US 41, but do not take it.  Proceed over US 41 on a bridge staying on the Canton Road Connector.

4) After crossing US 41 take a right at the first redlight which is Church Street Extension.

5) You should cross railroad tracks soon.

6) Take a left onto Old 41 at the second redlight.  If you get to US 41 again, you have missed the turn onto Old 41 so turn around.

7)  Park in the overflow parking lot farther down the road on the left.
