Itinerary:

We will park at Standing Indian Campground: Backcountry kiosk/booth and take the Long Branch Falls Trail (east blue blaze) and veer right onto Glassmine Gap southeast on the AT to Albert Mountain where we will take a quick break and enjoy the 360-degree views from the fire tower. Descending from Albert Mountain, we will follow the white blazer adjacent to the gravel road passing Big Butt Mountain before a short walk on the gravel road (0.75 of a mile) leading to Pickens Nose Trail where we will once again enjoy spectacular views. Lunch will happen here. Thereafter, we will retrace our steps back to the cars.

This hike will be on the higher end of moderate pace; 2.7 MPH. Total mileage 17 with aprox. 3500ft elevation gain

This is a strenuous hike and requires recent D5 experience with the club to join the fun. Trip leader has the right to move under-experienced hikers to the wait list.
