Thursday June 17:  we meet at Denver International Airport no later than 11 am.
On the drive to Leadville, we take a little detour to start our acclimatization by driving to the summit of Mt Evans (14,264 ft).

Friday June 18: Mt. Elbert (14,433 ft). We are planning for an early start (6 am). Following the Northeast Ridge trail, we climbing ~4700 ft over 5 miles to the summit. We should reach the summit around 10 am, giving us ample time to enjoy the magnificent view from the highest peak in Colorado. Turn-around time for all participants is 11:30 am to avoid potential afternoon thunderstorms.

Saturday June 19: Mt. Massive (14,421 ft). Another early morning start (6 am). From the trailhead at ~10,000 ft, we are heading up the slopes of the south summit of Mt. Massive. After approximately 1 mile, we leave the marked trail and bushwhack until we reach the treeline. Following the summit ridge over three false summits, the roller coaster ride at 13,000 -14,000 ft guarantees a good workout. After reaching the main summit, we descent via the northern shoulder and loop back onto the East slope trail which will take us back to the trailhead, completing the ~15 miles loop. Turn-around time for all participants is 11:30 am.

Sunday June 20: We leave Leadville around 7 am for the drive back to Denver. Please arrange for your flight to depart Denver no earlier than 12 pm. Individual trip back to ATL.

IMPORTANT: Even though it is June, the weather at 14,000 ft can range from a sunny day in the 40s to subzero temperature and blizzard conditions. Weather conditions can change very quickly! Please review the suggested gear list below.
