Itinerary:

We will head out from the canoe/kayak launch at Rope Mill Park and paddle down Little River to Lake Allatoona. We will see turtles. I promise. :-) If we are lucky, we may see a deer and we are likely to see Great Blue Herons. Our first destination is Toonigh Creek Falls. We will explore the falls, then head out to a narrow passage where we will land on a point with a white sand beach. Here we will take another break and maybe a dip in the cold deep water.  Next, we will paddle back to the landing at Rope Mill.

Required Items to Bring:

Kayak or canoe (Unless you can show that you are a very strong paddler, you should have a kayak or canoe that is at least 9 feet long.)

PFD (Personal Flotation Device)

Water

Directions to Olde Rope Mill Park:

From I-575 Traveling North
Take Exit 9 (Ridgewalk Parkway Exit)
Turn right off Interstate onto Ridgewalk Parkway
At first light -  make a left onto Olde Rope Mill Park Road

This road dead ends into the park.

From I-575 Traveling South
Take Exit 9 (Ridgewalk Parkway Exit)
Turn left onto Ridgewalk Parkway
At second light - make a left onto Olde Rope Mill Park Road

This road dead ends into the park.

Notes:

Parking is free and there is a bathroom available on site.  Do not leave valuables in your car.

If you don't have a kayak, then I have an Old Town 9-foot kayak and paddle that you can borrow. Just contact Mark Bowden.
