Itinerary:
Earlier this week I posted a combo event.  I'm moving the paddle portion to the end of February to foucs on this event.

Our camp sites are within a hundred yards of the Atlantic Ocean. I have nothing scheduled all weekend and plan to play it by ear! Tentative plans are to surf, paddle, bike ride and maybe roller blade. Off course, plenty of lounging around too!

This area of Florida near Cape Canaveral is known as the Space Coast and on Sunday, STS-130 will commence - or to most of us, a space shuttle launch will occur. Endeavour will blast off at 4:39am. This is a dark sky take-off and one of only five remaining shuttle launches before they are retired. Pending liftoff, I imagine most of us will make our return to Atlanta.

Should the launch be delayed, I will stick around one, maybe two additional days. We'll need to coordinate carpools based upon this potential conflict. Keep in mind Feb. 7th is also Super Bowl Sunday.

Currently I have reservations for Thursday - Tuesday in the event the launch gets delayed.  Due to this being a special event weekend, the park has strict rules. NO DOGS is one rule. Another rule is the number of tents per site. Maximum is two tents per site.

Here is what I'm requesting from each of you, email me IMMEDIATELY and let me know the following:

1-if you have one of those mega tents that hold 4-10 people and the number you'd be willing to share.
2-if you have a vehicle the # you (and others) can sleep (Outback or Element come to mind), let me know. I'll be able to tweak the number of people attending and/or move you from the waiting list
3-are you arriving TH or FR night

Be advised we'll have a MANDATORY meeting to cover carpooling on Friday night the 29th. We need this meeting due to the potential of the launch being delayed.  If you do not attend I'll assume you wish to drive yourself. We'll also discuss group cooking options if you wish to participate.

COST
Thu-Sun, 3 nights $84   or  Fri-Sun, 2 nights $56
Estimated cost is $28 a day per person; two people per camp site. Obviously, the more we share the lower the price!  We'll split the cost as a group, not on a site per site basis.

Important information for paid events in which payment is managed through the AOC:

     - Payment must be received by the payment due date and prior to participation in the event.

     - Some paid events require a minimum number of registered participants. If that number is not met, the event will be canceled and refunds will be issued to those who have already paid.

     - Third-party vendors often require damage deposits. Each registrant agrees to be liable for and required to reimburse the Atlanta Outdoor Club for any withheld deposits due to the actions of or damages caused by that registrant.

     - No partial payments. All registrants must pay the posted Member Cost regardless of any agreement you may have with any party involved in the event.

     - Read the event description carefully for additional information, and contact the trip leader(s) with any questions.
