Itinerary:

Please come help me (Sue) celebrate my 900th AOC event.

Join us for an easy morning hike on the beautiful trails of the Island Ford unit of the Chattahoochee River Natl Recreation Area (CRNRA).  There are rocks and roots so poles might be helpful but we will be taking the trails at a slower beginner pace.  If you are new to hiking and want a little elevation this is a great way to begin.

We will meet at the first parking lot on the left when you enter the park and then we will make our way down to the Chattahoochee River and walk along the river.  What a great way to start the day!

Please note that there is a $5 parking fee unless you have an annual Chattahoochee River Rec parking pass.  You can pay for parking with your smartphone at the kiosk or pay in advance at https://www.nps.gov/chat/planyourvisit/fees.htm . You can buy an annual pass at the Visitor Center and use the restroom there before the hike,  but please allow enough time to get there and then drive back up to our parking lot.

We will start on time!  Please arrive 10 minutes early (9:50 am) to meet your fellow members and to get a group photo.

Bring plenty of water to hydrate during the hike.

Please be sure to leave all valuables at home or hidden in your car as there have been car break-ins at all CRNRA parks.

Well behaved and leashed dogs are welcome.
