Itinerary:

We'll do "the works" today at Sawnee Mountain Preserve.  We'll start with the Indian Seats Trail and continue onto the Hilltop Trail, Mountainside Trail, and the Ridgeline Trail. back to the Indian Seats Trail where we'll catch the beautiful view of the Blue Ridge Mountain Range.  The trails are beautifully wooded, with sightings of a couple of the old gold mines that were once active in the area.

The two major sections of trails are connected by a playground/picnic area where facilities are available for a bathroom break.  Here, we'll take a short break for lunch before continuing back to the Indian Seats Trail, where we'll hike to the Indian Seats overlook for views of the distant Blue Ridge Mountains.  From there, we'll take the remaining section of the Indian Seats Trail back to our cars.

The event will meet at the Environmental Center at 4075 Spot Road.  We will not be starting at the Bettis-Tribble Gap Road entrance. Go north on GA 400 to Exit 17 Hwy 306/Keith Bridge Road.  Go left at the exit until you dead end at Highway 9.  Go right on Hwy 9 about 1/3 mile to the light at Spot Road and take a left.  The entrance is on the left after about a mile and a half.

Due to the heat and rough terrain; this is a difficult D4!  We will do the cross trail on the new section twice!  There is a total of 10.5 miles and 1850' of elevation.
