Itinerary:

We will cruise to different Islands on Sail Croatia Premier ship for 7 days of daily scenic hikes. https://www.sail-croatia.com/croatia- cruises/active-croatia/hike-croatia Check out the website for all details and Photos.

There are 2 beds in each room. Everyone will have a roommate. Couples can choose to have a double bed. Each room has a bathroom. Cost for cruise per person is $989 including Breakfast and Lunch.

We will have free time most days for additional hikes, exploring the villages on each Island and swimming.

The Cruise starts in Split on June 3rd

Split is known for its beaches and the fortresslike complex at its center, Diocletian's Palace, erected by the Roman Emperor Diocletian in the 4th century. Once home to thousands, its sprawling remains include more than 200 buildings. Within its white stone walls and under its courtyards and galleries are shops, bars, cafes, cathedrals, hotels and several houses.

Check-in is from 10.30am to 12.00pm (midday). Please note your cabin may not be ready until 12:30pm. Your ship will depart the harbour at 1pm sharp.

Day 1:

We'll depart from Split Harbor at 1pm. After lunch onboard, we'll sail to our first destination, the island of Šolta. This island is one of those special places in Dalmatia where the traditional Croatian way of life has been maintained to the present day.

This afternoon we set out on our first hike up Gornje Selo from village of Stomorska. This upper village provides you with a perfect view out across the Sea for your first afternoon in Croatia.

DAY 1 HIKE Solta

Distance: 8km

Time: 2.5hrs

Ascent: 250m

Day 2:VIS

This morning we set sail towards the island of Vis. This is the most remote inhabited island and it is blessed with a more temperate climate than the mainland (warmer in winter, cooler in summer). It has a deserved reputation for producing extremely good food and wine, and the restaurants offer the freshest fish in the Adriatic.

Vis has been used over the centuries as a strategic military port and saw action by the Allied military through WWII against Italy and Germany, creating a fascinating military history. Today it is an idyllic island showcasing a traditional and authentic way of life.

DAY 2 HIKE

Distance: 7km

Time: 2hrs

Ascent: 250m

Day 3 Vela Luka

This morning we'll cruise along the coast down to the stunning island of Korcula, heading for the coastal village of Vela Luka. Once we arrive, we will hike to Vela Spilja (Big cave) - an archeological site located on the southern slope of Mount Pinski rat. Today's hike will be dependant on the groups fitness levels and the daily schedule.

DAY 3 HIKE
Distance: 8km
Time: 3hrs
Ascent: 360m

Day 4:Stari Grad

Enjoy breakfast onboard as we cruise towards the beautiful island of Hvar. This afternoon we will make our way to the quaint town of Stari Grad. We will start our hike from Stari Grad (town or old port) - Purkin Kuk following a small trail toward the coast, taking in stone walls and ending at a fortified settlement with megalithic walls; Purkin kuk. We catch our breath and enjoy the view before heading back to Stari Grad.

Tonight you can enjoy this picturesque town, dining at one of many restaurants hidden in the cobblestone alleys. Meander the back streets for local hidden gems, shops and restaurants before strolling along the waterfront with an ice-cream in hand.

DAY 4 HIKE

Distance: 6km

Time: 2.5hrs

Ascent: 250m

Day 5 Bol
SUMMARY

This morning we continue cruising the Adriatic and make our way towards the island of Brac, where after lunch, we will arrive in the town of Bol. Home to Zlatni Rat (Golden Horn beach), this beach is famous for its ever changing shape due to the tide.

The option today is to hike the impressive Blaca Hermitage, a jaw dropping 18th Century Monastery that juts out of the rock face. Marvel at the impressive stone architecture and take in the view of the nearby islands and mainland.

DAY 5 HIKE

Distance: 4km

Time: 1.5hrs

Ascent: 190m

Day 6 Makarska

This morning we make our way to the breathtaking town of Makarska, home of the Biokovo Mountain ranges that hug the Croatian coastline. Biokovo Nature park is the second highest mountain range in Croatia with 16 peaks above 1,400 metres. This is one of the reasons why Biokovo received the prestigious status of Croatian Nature Park in 1981.

Once we arrive in Makarska, you will be transferred to the Biokovo Nature Park before we begin our hike through the mountainous highlands, passing mountain huts and native flora along the way. We'll take a short break at the Pržinovac summit, which is popular with paragliders, to take in the impressive view of the islands. From here we will proceed to Vošac, the highest point of our hike (1422m) and the best spot to take in the view of the coastline and nearby islands.

After the Hike, your transfer will be waiting to take you back to Makarska.

DAY 6 HIKE

Distance: 5km

Time: 2hrs

Ascent: 200m

Day 7 Split

This morning we head back along the coast to Split and enjoy the morning admiring the Biokovo Mountain Range that you hiked yesterday. We stop in the seaside town of Omis; a small port town dwarfed by the Biokovo Mountains. Omis lies at the mouth of the Cetina river, which splits the Riviera in a spectacular gorge and provides stunning scenery. We’ll hike up to the impressive Fortica and take in the view.

Once back onboard, we’ll begin our final navigation toward Split. Enjoy your last evening exploring Split, appreciating the beautiful Diocletian's Palace or going for a stroll along the Riva.

Day 8: Split

Disembark this morning at 9:00am after an early onboard breakfast. Whether you're continuing your exploration of the region, or returning home, we wish you bon voyage!

We will do our own hike on day 8 to be posted.

We can arrive early on June 1st for some pre cruise hikes Krka National park and Plitvice Lake National Parks. There is the option to do a paid tour or rent cars and go as a group. We will discuss. It is always a smart idea to arrive a day or 2 early before cruising. We will have a group meeting to discuss transportion to these hikes and lodging. This will be an additional cost. More details to follow.

As of June 2022 Croatia will use Euro as the main payment.
