Please join me for a beautiful morning hike at Sawnee Mountain Preserve.  We will begin our hike on the newer Ridgeline and Hilltop Trails then on to the Indian Seats trail.  There are 2 long elevated climbs but it is not too steep.  For those of you that have never hiked Sawnee you are in for a real treat because the view from the top has gorgeous views of the North Georgia Mountains. After a short visit on the observation deck we will make our way back down.

We will be hiking at a moderate but steady pace.  If you have hiked D2s in the past and are ready for elevation this is the hike for you.

NOTE.....If you are looking for a faster fitness hike then this is not the hike for you.

Please arrive a few minutes early to use the restroom and do our introductions as we will be leaving on time.

Dogs are not allowed on these trails.

Sawnee Mountain Preserve is 963 acres and offers 11 miles of wooded trails for walkers, runners and hikers.  Trail options range from easy to difficult.  Along with the trails, Indian Seats and 2 gold mine shafts, the preserve also offers a tree canopy classroom, playground, two picnic pavillions, climbing area, amphitheater and visitors center.  The Visitors Center features interactive exhibits on the natural and cultural histories of Sawnee Mountain and a resource library.

*****Please bring your lunch.  Leave it in the car.  There is a nice pavilion with picnic tables at the parking lot for us to have lunch after the hike.  This is optional and not part of the event but I would love for you to join us if you can.

NOTE..... there are 2 parking lots on Bettis Tribble Gap. We are meeting at the OLDER parking lot at 2500 Bettis Tribble Gap Road which is the smaller of the 2 parking lots.
