Itinerary:

Come join us for this great semi-local hike with some great views.

We will meet at the West Loop trail head.  From here we will hike up the West Loop in a CCW direction to the summit and take in the view with a short break.  After that it's all business as we proceed along the East Loop clockwise to the bottom.  From here we will make our way to Cooper's Furnace.  After a short bathroom break at the furnace we will head back to the mountain along the Laurel Ridge trail.  On the return trip over the mountain we will hike the sides of the west and east loops that we missed on the way in stopping at the summit one last time along the way.

Our total distance will be appx 8.4 miles with over 1800 feet of elevation gain.  We will maintain an average pace of appx 2.5 mph.  We will slow down to regroup at intersections as required and move a little faster on the flats.  Please ensure that you have recent D4 hiking experience before registering for this event.  If you do not have D4 experience and I have not hiked with you I will reach out beforehand to make sure it's a good match for you.

Parking is free at the trailhead, but it is not a secured area so do not leave valuables in your car.  There is a porta potty at the trailhead as well, but the condition may be questionable.  One well behaved dog will be permitted, but must be kept on a leash at all times.

NOTE:  This will be my second solo event as a Potential Trip Leader.
