This is not a beginners hike.

We are targeting a pace of ~2.5 mph.

Let’s get a quick 5 in after work.  We’ll start at Sope Creek CRNRA.  From there we’ll wind our way over to Columns Drive. Then we’ll wind our way back to Sope Creek parking lot, possibly including a quick lap of the pond.

If you do not have parking pass arrive 15 minutes early to puchase one.   There is a $5 parking fee at CRNRA parks or you can buy an annual pass for $40. You can purchase daily parking with your smart phone at Sope Creek.  There is a sign with the QR code in the parking lot.  You can purchase an annual pass at the Island Ford CRNRA Ranger Station.

There are no restrooms at the parking area.

Required Items to Bring:

$5 Parking Pass or Annual Pass

Good pair of hiking shoes or boots

Water or some hydration

Event Directions:

Coming from Sandy Springs or Roswell on Johnson Ferry Road, turn left on Paper Mill Road.   The turn is at the top of the big hill, after crossing the Chattahocohee River.  After you cross the bridge on Paper Mill Road, the entrance will be on your left as you are going up the hill.
