Itinerary:

Evening Paddles are good therapy!
Little River will be the destination today as we paddle towards the waters of Lake Allatoona to watch the sun begin to set. The weather is looking cooler and the hopes of calm flat water paddling is a great way to unwind after a long day (for the working stiffs!). With that being said you will want to have USCG approved deck lights on your boat (A MUST HAVE FOR THIS EVENT, REI has some - link here), since it will be getting darker towards the end of the event.

We'll paddle NW from ORMP stopping in at Toonigh Creek Falls (if levels are high enough) for a quick photo op. then carrying on towards the more open water of Allatoona, but turning around at the Blankets Creek inlet area to give us a solid 8 mile paddle. These 8 miles have little to no current and wind may be a factor so a solid fitness base, a longer kayak and motivation to finish in a bit of daylight will help you. There is an ADA-approved boat ramp at the dock, so launch and take out should be fairly easy.

We're dropping in right at 5, so please be respectful to other members and show up early enough to outfit your boat as needed and be ready to paddle at 5 p.m.

The pace will be moderate, but continuous...it is an out and back paddle - so while the goal is to get to Blankets Creek, if you're falling back from my pace - we can scoop you up on the way back.
