Itinerary:

It's a special hike today!  We're honoring Marie-Felixe for reaching her 300th AOC event today! That's a lot of hikes, deserving of recognition!

We're going to hike the Homestead Trail - a rolling trail with lots of views of Lake Allatoona. We'll be hiking about 5.5 miles, starting at the Visitor Center.  We'll keep a steady, moderate pace, not too slow, but certainly not a fitness hike.

This trail begins at the Visitor Center, and makes a loop through some of the most beautiful areas of the park. The loop portion follows the lakeshore for approximately half its length.  This trail is named after one of several homesteads which were once located in the loop portion. Trail is blazed yellow and is not accessible to bicycles. The Homestead Trail is the Yellow Trail marked on the park map:

Poles are recommended to prevent tripping, though they're not a necessity.

A $5 parking fee is required if you don't have an annual State Park Pass.  Both a daily pass and an annual pass may be purchased at the Visitor Center.  Please allow ample time to purchase a pass before the hike.

We'll be starting on time, so please plan to arrive early enough to use the restroom at the Visitor Center and be ready to gather for introductions by 9:50 am.
