Itinerary:

This is a modified version of the popular Waterfalls of Three Forks AOC summer hike.

Our hike starts with a creek crossing - we may be able to rock hop, or you can opt to walk across a fallen tree if your balance is good, but be prepared that wet feet are a possibility.

We will then hike through the rolling woods down to Three Forks, the junction of Holcomb, Overflow, and Big Creeks that come together to form the West Fork of the Chattooga River. Here we will take a long break to explore, take pictures, and if you are a polar bear you are welcome to wade in the water. BRRR!

Next we will follow a trail along Big Creek, scrambling down steep banks (and back up) to see 2 more beautiful waterfalls. We will take breaks at each to enjoy the views before moving on.

After this last waterfall it is a gentle ascent back out to our cars.

Total miles hiking should be about 6. We will hike at an easy to moderate pace and take time to enjoy our surroundings.

Required Items to Bring:

Hiking boots or trail shoes
