This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

We'll meet at the Busbee/Town Center Park & Ride Lot at 8am ormeet at the Lake Lake Conasauga picnic or boating parking lot at 10am.

We'll start our hike around 10am and hike the shores of the glassy Lake Conasauga, Georgia’s highest-elevation lake, to a historic steel fire lookout tower on the summit of Grassy Mountain. The hike explores scenic forest in Georgia’s remote Cohutta Wilderness, the largest wilderness area east of the Mississippi River, and climbs to incredible views of nearby Fort Mountain.
