Itinerary:

This section is above Lake Lainer, between Hwy. 115 & Duncan bridge RD. It's a good
class 2 river, that is quite beautiful & has little development. We've had some nice rain this winter, so the rivers are staying at good runnable levels. It's a very nice 6 mile long section & should take us no more than 3 to 4 hours @ a moderate pace & lunch stop. Depending on the groups level of play, which usually is minimal with the weather still being cool.

Wildwood Outfitters 706-865-4451 will open on March 6th if you would like to rent a sit-on-top boat or funyak Carl has those for roughly $30 each. With that price you get a life jacket, paddle, helmet & shuttle ride. He also has regular kayaks for rent, but you must have a roll & be able to prove it before he'll rent you one. If you call before the 6th give him a few days to respond.

Personal Preparedness and Responsibility:
Be a competent swimmer
Wear a life jacket.
Wear a solid, correctly-fitted helmet
Whitewater rivers contain many hazards which are not always easily recognized:
High Water, Cold, Strainers, Dams, weirs, ledges, reversals, holes, and hydraulics are, but a few hazards that we come across.
Be practiced in self rescue, individual paddlers are ultimately responsible for  their own safety, and must assume sole responsibility for there decisions.

Also he doesn't rent wet suits, so I called a few dive shops in Atl. Call ahead to rent one & go in to get fitted a little early.

Divers Supply (in Marietta) $19 for the weekend.

The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.
