Itinerary:

The BRAG Ride Experience

Thanks to our friends at  "BRAG", Bicycle Ride Across Georgia, for inviting the AOC to participate in their big annual Spring Tune Up Ride in Rutledge, GA at the beautiful Sunflower Farm.  We will camp as a group.

It will be 3 days of riding, camping, and entertainment, as well as s’mores, plenty of opportunities to hang out with friends - new and old, and local HAPPY HOUR specials as well as live music on Friday and Saturday!!

There are mileage options every day.  YOU CHOOSE THE DAY(S) YOU WANT TO RIDE AND HOW MANY MILES YOU WANT TO RIDE DAILY!!  See the Brag website for mileage options www.brag.org

Please note you must sign up on the Brag site.  http://www.brag.org  to participate in this event.  PLEASE ALSO NOTE IF YOU ARE JUST CAMPING YOU STILL MUST SIGN UP AS A NON-RIDER ON THE BRAG SITE.  EVERYONE MUST HAVE A WRIST BAND TO CAMP AND/OR RIDE.

The fee (paid to Brag on the Brag website) includes camping, full support for the entire ride, shower truck, snacks and drinks at the rest stops, safety on route, bands Friday and Saturday nights.  All levels of experience are welcome, as well as all types of bikes but we would strongly recommend a road bike or hybrid and experience on doing group riding for a few consecutive days.  It's not a race so you can ride at your own pace. . You will not be expected to stay together as an AOC group. There will be lots of other riders and you may find others that are your pace you'd prefer to ride with.  We will camp together as a group and hang out in the evenings for the bands and at our camping area.  There will be food trucks on site for breakfast, lunch and dinner but you are welcome to bring your own food.  The sunflower farm does not allow individual campfires.

Maps are included but the route is clearly marked.  There is food, drink and porta potties located at the rest stops along the way every 10 to 15 miles.

It's a ride not a race.  There will be a Newcomers' Meeting every morning for first-time BRAG riders at HQ.

YOU MAY ARRIVE TO CAMP ON THURSDAY EVENING TO CAMP IF YOU WISH.  Stacey will be on site on Thursday and will tie red balloons to our camping area.  Just ask at HQ to point you to where the AOC is camping.

NOTE: For safety, a helmet  is required to be worn during this event.  No helmet, no bike ride.

Can’t make all 3 days?  That’s no problem! You’re free to choose your days accordingly as what works best for you!
