The Duncan Ridge Trail starts at Three Forks and winds its way to Blood Mt. It is a difficult, remote trail with outstanding payoffs and challenges. Join me on my favorite section of the DRT.
Join me as I start at Mulkey Gap and make my way to the intersection of the BMT at Rhodes Mountain. We will be climbing five mountains on the way: Clements Mt, High Top, Payne Knob, Gregory Knob and Rhodes Mt. We will be getting some nice winter views as we make our way. We will eat lunch on Rhodes Mountain before we retrace our steps back to the cars. We will be moving on the high side of moderate with an average rate of 2.75 mph.
This hike starts with a difficult climb right out of the car, it's like a punch in the throat... the good kind.
This hike is almost 14 miles with 3500 ft of gain, it is on the high end of the D5 scale and requires recent D5 experience to join the fun.
|How to Get There:|
We will be parking at Mulkey Gap which is on a decent service road.

|Carpool Cost:||Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $64.00 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.|
