This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

This event is in the Central timezone, all times listed are in EASTERN!

Join me as I continue south down the Pinhoti Trail in the Talladega National Forest. We will be parking at the same lot that was enjoyed for the Section 5 hike a few weeks ago.

This will be a fun, fast, rolling hill hike with typical Pinhoti rocks, creeks a few climbs and views. This will be a great change of pace hike and quite different from the typical North Georgia hikes. Expect a FAST, pleasant hike with great company and plenty of laughs.

Pinnacle View, Scott's Cascade, Scott Lake, Wormy's Pulpit, Horn Mountain and more! There's a lot of action of this hike with creeks to cross and plenty to see... There is even a fire tower at the top of Horn Mountain built by the CCC and restored just a few years ago, a great place for lunch! There is at least one creek crossing, bring water shoes or come prepared to hike with wet feet. Waterproof boots are a good idea as well.

Buck, my enthusiastic four legged friend will be joining us on this hike, if you are not a fan of doggy attention, this may not be a good hike for you.

This is a long, difficult D5 hike, recent D5 experience is required to join the fun. Those without AOC D5 experience will be moved to the waitlist and must respond to all trip leader inquiries to be added to the event.

I am always looking for volunteers to drive, please consider listing yourself as willing to drive!
