Itinerary:

This is a very cool hike, well worth the drive!

Join me as we hike the Collins Gulf in the Savage Gulf State Natural Area. We will be hiking the Collins Gulf Trail, the Collins Rim Trail and the "Historic" Stagecoach Road. There are several very cool waterfalls and suspension bridges on this hike as well as several geological wonders as rivers disappear from view and appear again just downstream. Suter Falls, at the beginning of the hike, is an all time favorite falls to see. It will surely not disappoint. There is one ankle deep water crossing, so waterproof boots and poles would be a good idea.

This is a long difficult D5 hike, recent D5 experience is required to join the fun. Expect an e mail from the trip leaders if your AOC matrix does not show recent D5 events at this level. We will need to verify this is the right hike for your experience.

This hike was first written up by Ron J and even though I have led it before, credit needs to go to Ron for the details and map.
