Itinerary:

This is it - - our 5th hike of the day to celebrate el Cinco de Mayo.  Join us on one of them, two of them, or even all of them, if you like!  Wear Mexican colors (red, green, and white), and get into the spirit of the day!

We'll take this last hike at a pretty fast pace, therefore, it is NOT a hike for beginners or for folks who can't maintain a moderately fast pace for 2 hours (with few stops).  We'll start at the VISITOR CENTER lot, walk along the river, go around the lollipop trail, and return via the inner trails.

We'll meet at the VISITOR CENTER lot, which is almost a mile past the entrance gates.  Keep driving past the pond, staying on the main road until you can't go any further.  The Visitor Center has bathrooms, but they close at 5 pm - - so arrive 15 minutes early if you want to take advantage of them.

We'll start the hike promptly at 5:00 pm, so arrive at least 10 minutes early to meet everyone before we start out, pay your parking fee,  and to use the bathrooms.  There's a parking fee of $5.00 in this park. You can purchase a pass online or get to the park early enough to buy a pass at the Visitor Center.

Since we'll be going at a fast pace, we're not inviting dogs along on this hike.  The trails are sometimes narrow with lots of roots, so dogs can become a tripping hazard.
