Itinerary:

Please join me for a hike on the beautiful trails of the Island Ford unit of the Chattahoochee River Natl Recreation Area (CRNRA). We will be hiking at a leisurely to moderate pace along the river and then up into the woods.  We will repeat our loop to get in about 4 miles and 400 feet of elevation. There are some moderate climbs but nothing too hard.  No warm-up hill and no lollipop trail.  We will be mostly in the shade.  The time allotted is approximate.

We will meet at the Visitor Center.   See below for directions.

Please note that there is a $5 parking fee unless you have an annual Chattahoochee River Rec parking pass.  You must use your smartphone to pay for parking or purchase a pass in advance online at:  https://www.nps.gov/c hat/planyourvisit/fees.htm

The bathrooms at the Visitor Center will be closed at the time we start.
