Itinerary:

Welcome to another silent hike event!

This will be a partial silent hike to better enjoy nature and experience some quietness. The silent part of the hike will be the first hour and a half.

"The hours when the mind is absorbed by beauty are the only hours when we really live" - Richard Jefferies, from the Trail of Beauty

Silent hikes provide with the opportunity to better immerse in nature, allow the other hikers to immerse themselves in nature as well, and "quiet" our internal chatter. It is also less disruptive for wild life around us. We improve our listening, eye-foot coordination, and situational awareness. You can focus on your breathing or on your steps. This will quiet your mind at the same time. Read more about Tips for Walking Mindfully in Nature and Benefits of Quiet.

We will meet at the Visitor's Center (enter through the entrance and drive all the way down until the end of the road). We'll head for the second parking lot to cover the "lollipop trail" (in and out). Then we'll head back to the Visitor's Center.

Purchase your $5 parking fee in advance online

It is OK to say hello to other hikers that cross our path if that is your custom.
Dogs are welcome but must be on leash at all times in accordance with Chattahoochee NRA park rules.
