Itinerary:
The Atlanta outdoor Club is a social club where thousands of people had enjoy and explored the outdoors together.  Also I think our unique club has a responsiblity of assisting in the protection and also maintaince of those places we so love to visit and explore.

So I ask you as fellow club members to assist me in helping our state parks.  There budget has suffered a cut beyond the bone in these down times.  The friends of Amicalola state park have contacted me about the work day.  Below is the email they sent to me describing the work they want us to assist with.

We will be doing gardening projects( weeding, pruning, fertilizing, pond cleaning, mulching);  park wide clean up (including trash pick up, cleaning of the grills in the day use area and cleaning the shelters).
Also, trail maintenance (including trash and debris pick-up, and repair of cut-thrus).
The highways leading into the Park will need trash pick-up also.
Last year you had offered 30-40 people.   If you can get that many or any number of volunteers we would be very grateful.
The G.A.T.C has worked on 3 separate days to improve the Spring and Creek Trails.  They worked with some of our volunteers and installed  wooden steps and a water diversion on the Spring Trail.  They  built a retaining wall and placed rocks for steps and repaired cut thrus on the Creek Trail.
We are evaluating further work to be done on the trails.
Other projects would include general clean-up of the the outside and inside of Visitor Center (removing cob webs, cleaning windows, etc.)
We have applied for a grant to repair the West Ridge Trail.  If we get the grant we will match the amount and contract it out.  (repair of the existing re-cycled tire material walking trail where it has buckled up and become a danger).
Once that is completed we hope to install some additional wooden hand rails and possibly a wooden bench or two along the trail.
I hope this gives you an good idea of the projects.
Equipement needed would be work gloves, rakes, trash pick-up sticks if you have them.
The Park will supply the trash bags and cleaning supplies for the grills.  We would supply the mulch, fertilizer, etc. for gardening.
