Itinerary:

Please join me for two loops around the Laurel Ridge trail at the Buford Dam Park.  We will start off by hiking a counter-clockwise loop followed by a clockwise loop.  This trail has challenging climbs in each direction that also contain steps as a bonus.  We will double up one of the climbs for a total of three - two hunrdred-plus feet climbs.  Hiking pace will be between 2.7 - 3 mph on this approximately 9 mile hike that has a total of a 1150 feet elevation gain.  This hike is a group hike so we will stick together.  If there is seperation on the climbs we will regroup at the peak as well as any intersection.

We will meet and start the hike at the restrooms located at the Lower Overlook parking lot.  We will also pass by additional restrooms along our trek.  Please arrive early to find the parking, use restrooms and introductions as well as listen to the hike details.  We leave leave prompltly at the start time of the hike.

The following map illustrates the overall trek but does not show the additional bonus climb.

Experience:

Minimum AOC D3 hiking experience required.  Those that do not have this experience will be moved to the waiting list until other experience provided.  It is suggested that those that have the experience but not within the club contact me by text or e-mail before registering or add to the comments while registering.

Optional brunch:

The Lower Overlook contains many nice picnic tables.  If the weather is gorgous I will definitely be staying after the hike to have brunch and enjoy the beuty of this amazing park.  Please join me!
