Itinerary:

It's time again for the AOC Annual Picnic!

We have lots of activities planned, and are still coming up with more ideas. We have reserved a very large grassy area surrounded by 3 picnic shelters (same as last year) right on Lake Allatoona.

We'll have food, hot off the grill, prepared by our Head Chef, Vanessa Carter

Live music from AOC member, Chris Jackson & the Hot Carltons band!

Tons of organized games (Tug-a-War, Watermelon Eating Contest, Balloon Toss, Scavenger Hunt, the 'Faster Camper' Contest, and more) organized by the Game Master, Phil 'Foz' Parkerson

Other self organized games (Volleyball, Badminton, Frisbee, Horse Shoes, Redneck Golf, ...)

Free boating activities

Swimming

And other foolishness :-)

This will be a very fun packed day. Think of last year. Now think of something twice as fun!

This year we were able to keep the price to only $10 again (but will go up later, see note *). This is due to the fact that we have a sponsor, the Ocoee Adventure Company, that is paying for most of the food. They will be our exclusive outdoor  sponsor for this event. They have a lot to offer and will also be there to answer any of your questions about their outdoor events. Whitewater Rafting, Kayaking, Cruises on the Tennessee Lake, and even trips to Costa Rica.

Again, this year we'll need a bunch of volunteers to help out. Different jobs may be helping with setup, registration, cooking, games, cleanup, or other miscellaneous jobs. We also need one more boat owner to offer rides (we'll pay for gas). Volunteers get free admission . Expect to work a 2-3 hours of the event (or maybe making salads the night before). We're going to need about 25 volunteers. You can express your job preference, but be prepared to be assigned where we need you. Contact our Picnic Volunteer Coordinator, Hilke Neuerburg, at
Hilke@AtlantaOutdoorClub.com, if you're interested.

Questions? Our Picnic List Coodinator, Susan Cooper, at Susan@AtlantaOutdoorClub.com, will be in charge of all communication, keeping up with the attendee list, the wait list, who has paid, & who will be removed for non-payment. You'll be hearing a lot from her.

* Note: For planning purposes, we need counts as far in advance as possible. Because of this, and to encourage early signups, there's an early bird signup price of $10. This is good until June 1st. After that, it goes up to $14. You must pre-register, there will be no signups at the event.

This is an ADULT ONLY activity just like all AOC events. Georgia state parks do not allow alcohol, and the AOC is not responsible for any alcohol you bring.

Sorry, no dogs allowed on this event

Come have fun with us. This will be the best AOC picnic ever!

Tom

Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
Sunscreen, bathing suit, & a camp chair

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Take I-75 North to exit 285 red Top Mtn Road. Take at right at the top of the ramp and go 1 mile to reach the park. You will cross over a bridge and take your first right into our area. if parking is full here go another 50 yards and park on the left in the overflow parking area.

All state parks have a $3 per vehicle charge for parking. With Red Top Mtn the actual place you pay is inside the park, NOT at the entrance. When you arrive please drive past the AOC area and the overflow parking on the left. take your next left, you will see the parking booth ahead. Pay for your vehicle and then come back and park. Because of this fee the AOC encourages everyone to find someone to carpool with.

Notes:
Before June 1st: Payment must be received before June 1st to get the discount. Registration alone does not qualify you for the discount.

After June 1st: Payment must be received within 3 days of signing up, or risk being removed from the event sign up to make room for those on the waiting list.
