Itinerary:

We will start our hike on the West Trail on a fairly steep and rocky path and climb to the Pine Mountain Overlook  We will take a short break to take pictures of Lake Alatoona and the surrounding areas.

We'll connect with the East Trail and hike on to Cooper's Furnace where we will take a 20-25 minute lunch break.  We'll walk from Cooper's to the Visitors Center and the overlook of Lake Alatoona.

We'll follow the East Trail again until it joins back with the West Trail and follow the West Trail back to the parking lot.  The return trip includes several uphill switchbacks that can be tiring, especially if the weather is warm.  We will pause along the way, as necessary for rest and water breaks.
