We'll head up to the top of Springer Mountain via the AT approach Trail. Springer Mountain stands at approximately 3800 feet and is at the Southern Terminus of the AT!!

The hike will start from the visitor center parking lot of Amicalola Falls and follow the AT approach trail via the old road and AT arch to the summit of Springer Mountain. If time and weather permits we will have lunch there.

We will return via The Hike Inn for a brief stop.  The Hike Inn usually has some excellent cookies or desserts available for a small donation/tip.

We will descend on the waterfall stairs to the cars.

Please meet at the visitor center parking lot before 9:00 as the hike will begin at 9AM promptly. Sooner if everyone is ready.

There is a $5 parking fee paid at the gate when you come in to Amicalola State Park or if you are a member of a public library they may have a state park pass that you can borrow.

If you have not recently completed a D6 event with the AOC, the trip leaders will contact you to see if this event is appropriate for you.
