Itinerary: | |||||||
We had so much fun last time, we just had to do it again! We will meet up at the Park St Bridge entrance to the park, right on the bridge. Our path will take us around the meadow, Lake Clara Meer, Oak Hill, the activity oval, and the tennis courts to end up back at the bridge. The hike will end there, but anyone wishing to stay and play in the dog park located just under the bridge is invited to do so. In order to accommodate dogs of all shapes and sizes, we will be going a shorter distance (~3 miles) and taking a slower pace (<= 2mph) than a typical D2 hike. While this event is geared towards dog owners, bringing a dog is not required, so anyone wishing to sign up is more than welcome. Beginners and new members are encouraged to join us on this easy hike! For more information on Piedmont Park, visit the Piedmont Park Conservancy website: | |||||||

How to Get There: | |||||||
Event Directions: | We will be meeting at the Park Dr Bridge entrance to the park. 400 Park Dr NE Turn East on 10th St (this is a left if travelling south, a right if travelling north on 75/85) Go 5 blocks, park will be on the left Parking can get interesting, so allow extra time to park and get to the meet up spot. Free on-street parking can be found in the neighborhood south of 10th street (across from the park), but be prepared to hunt for a space. There is a brand new parking deck for the Botanical Garden which is open to park visitors, but there is a fee (usually $5, but bring more just in case). To get to the parking deck, continue on 10th St past the park, turn left on Monroe Dr, then left on Worcester. An excellent map of the park can be found here: http://www.piedmontpark.org/pdf/Parking_Facility_Map.pdf
