Itinerary:

Welcome to the Stone Mountain Scenic Hike!

Please arrive 10 minutes early and meet at the base of the Walk-Up trail near the bathroom. We will group up, get situated and start the hike promptly at 10:00 am.

We will hike clockwise around the mountain beginning with the Connecting Trail from our meeting place. This 6.5 mile trek will focus on the scenic routes of the Connecting Trail, Cherokee Trail, King’s Trail and Garden Nature Trail. This is not a fitness hike; we will trek at a moderate pace taking in the surrounding nature and beautiful views.  We will enjoy continuous views of the Venable Lake and Stone Mountain Lake, and also easy access to various historic areas. A few noteworthy attractions we will encounter along the way are the Grist Mill, the Memorial Lawn, the Covered Bridge and Indian Island.

There will be breaks for hydration and also opportunity for a restroom break at the Grist Mill site.

Nestled in 3200 acres of natural beauty, Stone Mountain Park features outdoor recreational activities, seasonal family-friendly attractions, and 15 miles of hiking and walking trails.
