Itinerary:

Welcome to Jones Bridge trail!

Please arrive 10 minutes early and meet in the parking area near the bathroom. We will meet everyone, get situated and start the hike promptly at 10:00 am.

We will begin the hike at the north trailhead, which takes us up a small hill and around to the river. We will hike along the riverbank and take in all the sights and sounds; it’s common to see wildlife, fishermen and kayakers on a good day. The trail will continue into the wood, through a field and around the Environmental Educational Center. There’s a hidden picnic area by the river, I will take the group there so we can all enjoy the view. We will then continue down the riverbank and retrace our steps back to the parking lot.

Jones Bridge trail is located in the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area, nestled in the city of Johns Creek, a northern Atlanta suburb. It’s a moderate trail, popular for hiking, walking and running. A significant part of this trail runs alongside the Chattahoochee River.

Difficulty

Jones Bridge trail is mostly flat with moderate elevation gain around 460 ft.  You will need to be willing to keep pace between 2.5 mph to 2.8 mph with the group, faster on flat surfaces and slower on hills.
