We will join Park Rangers and experienced outdoorsmen for two days of wilderness survival training at Amicalola Falls State Park. Training is on Saturday from 8:00am to 5:20pm and Sunday from 8:00am to 6:00pm.

We will be on our own for Saturday evening. You have the choice of primitive pioneer camping with others in the AOC or making your own arrangements (Amicalola State Park has a lodge if you prefer to be pampered: Call 800-864-7275 to make individual reservations)

We will discuss and demonstrate the five survival priorities of fire, water, shelter, food and first aid. We will discuss being prepared, creating and using an appropriate survival kit. Training consists of; wilderness preparation, loss prevention, map and compass, fire building, signals, water & food, ropes & knots, shelters, wilderness dangers, first aid, and search & rescue resources. Each person will receive an emergency survival kit and a magnesium fire starter. This is a great learning opportunity for individuals wanting to become better prepared for what can happen in the great outdoors.

Required Items to Bring:
Bring your own personal survival kit, if you have one.
