Itinerary:

This is great area along the river! This will be fast hike. Be aware there are numerous stream crossings here with rock hoping,  Super neat hike combining large open field, tree lined trail, creek, and the river.

We will start our hike at the restrooms at the Johnson Ferry North Parking lot. We will follow the trail along the river until we come to Mulberry Creek where we will follow it to Hyde Farm.  Then back along the creek to open area and hike to Morgan Falls Dam.  Then hike up a different hill to Hyde Farm (restroom stop here) with final walk along the creek and back to the parking lot.  Lots of stream crossings with rock hopping, so waterproof shoes might prove helpful.

Recent D2+ experience to join the fun.  Please arrive at least 10 minutes early for introductions.

Note: If construction is going on we may need to change our route.  If stream crossings are flooded we will have alternate route.

Event Directions:
Approximate address:

Marietta, Ga 30068

The Johnson Ferry North trailhead is located near where Johnson Ferry Road crosses the Chattahoochee River.  The park is located on the Cobb County side of the river and the park entrance is directly across JFR from Columns Drive.  There is a traffic light at this intersection.

If you are coming from East Cobb, the park is on the left side of JFR immediately before crossing the river.  If coming from Sandy Springs, turn right immediately after crossing the river.  You will see the parking pay station immediately in front of you and a gate.  Drive through the gate and proceed to the back paarking lot where we will meet.

Parking is $5 for the day unless you have a CRNRA annual pass in your vehicle.  A pass can be purchased at the kiosk in the parking lot but to do so you must use your smartphone to pay. It's better to purchase a pass in advance online at:  https://www.nps.gov/chat/planyourvisit/fees.htm.
