Itinerary:

Join me on my favorite loop in Savage Gulf State Park. We should end up covering around 13.5 miles over the course of the day at what I would consider a moderate pace.

We will start at the Savage Gulf South trailhead and make our way along the rim of Collins gulf. This part is less interesting than the later portion of the hike so we will likely move quicker during this segment.

Then for the second half of the hike we make our way back through the rocky gorge which is where the good stuff is. We will see a couple waterfalls and a small cave along the way. Assuming that we are still doing well on time we will take extended stops at these spots to enjoy them. Depending on the recent weather there may be a few wet foot crossings in this portion of the trail but nothing extreme.

The carpool will be leaving at 7:00 AM, if meeting at the event please be there and ready to hike by 9:15 AM. There is a chance you will beat the carpool to the trailhead.  All times listed are in the Eastern Time zone, but the hike is in the Central Time zone. I expect that we will be back to the carpool a bit earlier than the listed 8pm but you never know.
