This is Part 5 of the Park & Play series. It is an urban hike in Midtown's 189 acre Piedmont Park, which is often compared to New York City's "Central Park." Piedmont Park has spectacular views of the city with the openness of the outdoors.

Beginners and new members are encouraged to join us on this easy hike!

We will meet at the Park Dr Bridge entrance to the park.

We will begin our hike around the entire Park Loop along the soft, compacted dirt of the park trails. There will be a few elevation changes throughout our hike around the park as we pass ball fields, the lake, and a large meadow.

After our hike around the park is complete, everyone is welcome to stay and enjoy the free movie that begins at sunset:

The festivities will open with music by local DJs, as well as musical performances from local Atlanta artists.

comfortable hiking shoes/boots, clothing, lots of water to drink and stay hydrated

from I-75/85, Exit 10th St

Turn East on 10th St (this is a left if traveling south, a right if traveling north on 75/85)

Go 5 blocks, park will be on the left

Please allow extra time to park and arrive at the meeting place on time.

Free on-street parking can be found in the neighborhood south of 10th street (across from the park), but be prepared to hunt for a space.

There is paid parking at the Botanical Garden parking deck which is open to park visitors. To get to the parking deck, continue on 10th St past the park, turn left on Monroe Dr, then left on Worcester.

Notes:

Moviegoers may bring food and beverages, but no glass containers can be brought into Piedmont Park.

In consideration of others, movie attendees are asked to leave pets at home. Umbrellas, high-backed chairs and grills are strictly prohibited.
