Itinerary:

The Smith Creek Trail starts at the campgrounds at Unicoi State Park.  We will hike the 4+ miles to Anna Ruby Falls.   The first two miles are steep and challenging but the trail is in good condition according to recent feedback on AllTrails.

We should have great views of the valley as we make our way toward the falls.  With the warm weather of March, we should see plenty of greenery and trees and flowers in bloom.

We will stop at Anna Ruby Falls to enjoy the views and take photos, then have lunch near the visitors center.  This is an out and back hike, so we will return along the same trail to return to our cars.

This is not a hike for beginners because of the steep elevation gain on the ascent to the falls. Our pace will average 2.8+ mph.  Attendees must be capable and willing to maintain this pace.

Previous D4 experience is required to attend this hike.
