Remember the childhood joy of climbing a tree and changing your perspective just by getting up above it all and dangling your feet?  Leave behind your worries and come climb a tree at Blackburn Park!  Float in the air, suspended in the branches of a majestic willow oak.

Tree Climbers International, Inc. promotes tree climbing as a safe recreational activity suitable for people of all ages.  When we arrive, the instructors will have looped all the ropes over branches and tied all the knots. They will show us how the climbing system works, how to tie a safety knot, and how to descend safely. All we have to do is slip into a harness and helmet and up we'll go! Climbers can climb two or more times (it depends on how long we decide to stay aloft in the tree each time.)

The TCI Beginners' Climb is meant for the person with no tree climbing skills.  All equipment is supplied; all you need is loose clothing (T-shirt and long pants recommended), and light shoes (closed-toe preferable).

What to wear:

Comfortable climbing clothes: long pants and a T-shirt (no shorts or dresses, please) and sturdy sneakers.

We'll meet at 9:45  in the parking lot across from the tennis courts to sign waivers and pay for the climb.  This event costs $23 cash to be paid at the event.

Visit the Tree Climbers International website for more details and to see a video demonstration of a climb.
