Itinerary:
This fairly new segment of the Big Creek Greenway is a lot of fun...it is mostly flat with less than 100 feet of total elevation change along the entire route (175 feet for an out and back ride).  There are numerous boardwalk portions, but they are well constructed so you don't get that rattling you would find on some others...so should be just fine for road bikes as well as hybrids, mountain bikes, recumbants, unicycles, etc.

While this is a group ride in principle and in spirit, everyone can basically go at their own speed.   We won't insist on everyone staying in a tight group.  That is just more difficult to do than it would be on a hike.  But there should be ample time to hang out and socialize both before and after the ride.

We will start at the southern trailhead off of McFarland Road....the trail is 6.8 miles long, so out and back from there is 13.6 miles...should take between an hour to an hour and a half, depending on how hard you'd like to push it.   You really don't even have to ride the entire length and could turn around before the end if you really wanted to.

Park in the lot on the right side parking lot of McFarland Pkwy (if coming from GA-400) and we will meet at the little trail map kiosk.

Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:From GA 400 heading north, get off at Exit 12 - McFarland Pkwy.  Take a right off the exit, going SE and trailhead parking is on the right in less than a mile.

Notes:

NOTE: You are responsible for your bike maintenance or repairs on the traiil.  However I'm sure others would try to help to the best of their abilities, but good to have a well tuned up bike, etc.
