Itinerary:
waterfallThis is a new trail that has opened up at cloudland canyon. We will hike down the canyon through 350 iron stairs and then enter the canyon floor.  From there its a 6.5 mile loop along the river.  I plan to take a very moderate pace through this event and enjoy the natural splendor of giant boulders, undercut cliffs, and the beautiful hemlock canopy.

Bring something for lunch, we'll stop at a scenic outlook and eat.

There is no swimming allowed due to state park rules and the water is rather swift.

The main difficulty on this trip is the climb down and out of the canyon.  Once on the Canyon floor its fairly level, but be in good physical shape to make it up the 350 stair ascent

Event Description

Sitton's Gulch Loop Trail begins in the main overlook area as a part of the second waterfall trail, winding down stairsteps and officially begins at the new Daniel's Creek bridge. The trail follows Daniel Creek through open, green hemlock groves and overlooks numerous small waterfalls cascading through limestone crevices. There are excellent spring wildflowers displayed in the loop section of the trail. Sitton's Gulch Trail is 6.5 miles long and is considered strenuous due to several steep grades including 1,200 stairsteps.
