Itinerary:
This is a fitness hike for intermediate to advanced hikers and for those training for backpacking, mountain climbing, or other strenuous/endurance adventure trips.

The hike is approximately 16 or so miles round trip with an average hiking speed. We will start at the bottom of the falls, and hike up waterfall stairs to the trailhead. From the trailhead, we will hike the AT Approach trail to Springer Mountain.  This trip is semi-exploratory because I have never gone to Springer before, though I have done the rest of the route. On our way back down the Approach Trail, the plan is to turn onto the Len Foote trail and head over to the Hike Inn for a much needed rest and a less inclined trail down the mountain.  (Since I have never caught that trail from the Springer direction, I might need assistance making the turn so we don't miss it!)

I believe the total hiking distance is between 15 and 17 miles, though I don't know the exact number.  The time duration above is an estimate.  It may take longer.

If you are signing up for this trip and have not done 10+ mile AOC trips previously, please email me as to why you believe you are able to do this distance.  It's hard.  I'm not sure how well I can do this hike!!!

Please plan on bringing lunch and snacks, and A LOT of water!  I want to be sure everyone is prepared to handle the distance and heat! We will be stopping by the Len Foote Hike Inn for a break. The Inn will sometimess have some bread, dessert or fruit left over from dinner the night before that you can take in exchange for tips for the Inn employees but this is not guaranteed.
