Itinerary:
PLEASE NOTE: It is expected to be VERY hot this weekend.  Bring LOTS of water and plenty of snacks and electrolytes.  This is not an easy hike and you will be sweating.

This is a training hike for those preparing for backpacking, mountain climbing, or other strenuous/endurance adventure trips. KILI!!!!  It is SEMI-EXPLORATORY because I have never done these trails, but have been assured that it is well sign posted and easy to navigate.  Plus, everyone else in this club has been there a gazillion times...

The hike is approximately 12 miles round trip. I keep an average hiking speed on flat bits, but am on the slower end on the steep bits.  We will take rest breaks as necessary, but won't really have time to just dally. We will start at the bottom of the falls, and hike up waterfall stairs to the trailhead. From the trailhead, we will hike the AT Approach trail for 4 miles. We will turn onto the Len Foote Trail and hike a mile to Len Foote hike Inn.  We will stop at the Inn for a break and to eat a snack/lunch. We will continue back via the Len Foote route. We should be back in Atlanta late afternoon.

As an added incentive to keep up our pace, if we finish early enough, we can go for a swim at "The Edge of the World" after the hike.  So bring a suit if you are so inclined.

Notes:
1. We will be hiking at an average speed during the hike, so if you are a 'FAST HIKER', this hike might not be the hike for you because of the speed.
2. You are welcome to carry a weighted down backpack if you are training for an adventure or backpacking trip, but it's not a requirement on this hike.
3. The Trip Leader(s) reserve the right to remove anyone from the list who they feel cannot handle this trip. If you have not done a hike of this distance before, please email me to let me know why you think you can handle it.

Please plan on bringing a snack since we will be dropping by the Len Foote Inn for a break. The Inn will sometimess have some bread, dessert or fruit left over from dinner the night before that you can take in exchange for tips for the Inn employees but this is not a guarentee.
