Itinerary:
Azalea Park to Morgan Falls Paddle out and back

We'll start PROMPTLY AT 6PM at Roswell's Azalea Park and paddle down to Morgan Falls Dam and back. Along the way we'll be passing the very picturesque rocky outcrops of Cedar Cliffs, as well as, a few little side creeks and areas we may be able to explore depending on time and conditions.

This is a flat water section of the Chattahoochee with no rapids or shoals to contend with which will allow us to paddle back to our starting location. The overall paddling distance is about 8 miles total with additional distance depending on our explorations. We will be keeping a steady pace so we are sure to complete the journey prior to dark.

This trip is dependent on weather, water levels, and scheduled water releases from Buford Dam. Water releases are only planned a day or 2 in advance and occasionally can make the trip back a little more of a workout. I will be checking water release schedules as time approaches to gauge our return trip workload.

The event is intended only for those who have their own equipment. You must supply your own kayak or canoe (no inflatables), paddle, and coast guard approved PFD (personal flotation device).

Please be aware - Atlanta has rush hour traffic and this event starts during the afternoon commute. Please plan ahead and allow sufficient time for traffic and other unforeseen delays that usually occur during this time.  Respect your fellow trip participants by being on time!
