Simpsonwood Park is named after Ludie Simpson who donated the land to the Methodist Church. This Gwinnett County park borders the Chattahoochee River, directly across the river from the Jones Bridge unit of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. There are a couple of narrow stream crossings on stones and maybe two small muddy areas covered by boards. These crossings are very easy and hiking poles are not really necessary, but you may want to bring them anyway. The total elevation change is less than 500 ft.
