Itinerary:

Join us for an exhilarating backpacking adventure from Dick's Creek Gap to Bly Gap.  This is an in-and-out hike on the Appalachian Trail on Georgia's northmost section to the border between GA and NC. Views at Bly Gap include the western North Carolina mountains, and other views on the way include Standing Indian and Hightower Bald. The trail follows the crest of the Blue Ridge, with high points of As Knob, Buzzard Knob and Little Bald Knob.

We will camp in the vicienity of the beautiful and unforgettable gnarled old oak tree at bly gap.  There are plenty of campsites, and several fire rings as well so there will be plenty of options.

The first day has more elevation and is just shy of a D6 backpack in terms of elevation so please plan accordingly.  The plan is to arrive in time to set up camp, relax and enjoy dinner around a campfire.

On Day two, we will enjoy a hearty breakfast then packup and return, departing around 9am.

This is a dog friendly event.
