Itinerary:
Easy!

Carters Lake Lodge just a little over an hour north of Atlanta in Gilmer County. This new cabin home may serve as our base camp for other local adventures(the cabin borders the lake, just a short walk to the waters edge), ...you may want to enjoy a long, serene hike along the many available trails and you just might see wildlife, including deer and turkey, while taking in some of the most beautiful scenery in North Georgia.

The weekend is open for whatever you’d like to do. However, we have planned a general itinerary below:

Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions. We will try to accommodate you.

**Check out the amenities at Carter’s Lake Lodge - http://www.carterslakelodge.com/index.html

Friday night - The leaders will be at the cabin by 8:30pm or 9:00pm with the carpool group. Please feel free to arrive at your leisure, but please let us know when to expect you, so that we do not send a search party after you!

We will begin grilling burgers and hotdogs around 8:00 and will have food available for late arrivals. (Please note that cell phone service is often difficult to find in the mountains. Be sure of your directions, or stop and phone the cabin from a land-line (well send you this number before the event). After arriving, feel free to just settle in, eat, relax, get in the hot tub, take a stroll, or whatever you prefer.

Sleeping situation will be first come, first serve, with discounts available to those choosing to share a bed (details below in COST).

Beds double and larger are to be reserved for those sharing a bed.

Saturday morning - we will cook an elaborate breakfast, followed by the day’s activities.

There will be standard packable lunch fare for those planning to explore the area.

Activities available -(all activities are non-mandatory and fees will be out of pocket for each member):

For the hikers, there will be a planned hike on Saturday (details to be posted shortly).

For others, there are local trails for 4-wheelers or bikes.

Horseback riding is available in the local area around Muletop Mountain. If you want to ride, we recommend making reservations very soon to guarantee a spot. Go to http://www.muletop.com for more info.

The cabin is right next to a lake where a pontoon boat can be rented for approximately $200/day.

Saturday evening - we will have a great feast of a dinner in the cabin around nightfall. Make your plans to return to the cabin by then.

Sunday morning - we will prepare a slightly less elaborate breakfast, then pack out as our check out time is around 11:00 am.
