Itinerary:

Note: While this is "Beginners Backpacking", all are welcome. The "beginner" part just means that it will not be a strenuous trip....and also that the trip leaders will be happy to answer any questions before, during, and after the event about gear or general backpacking issues.

This is a great trail for backpacking with the majority of it shaded and no stressful elevation changes. The goal for the group is to hike 3.5 miles to reach the 70 foot high waterfall where we will make camp. Once we get settled we can swim to cool off, head another 4 miles up the trail to the dam, or whatever floats your wilderness boat.  Reservations cannot be made, so if another group has beaten us to the spot we'll have to camp at another nearby location (all have water sources), and this will motivate us to stick to a strict carpool departure schedule.

Dogs are welcome (limit one dog per person please) but make sure they are sociable with people and other dogs.

We will bring a water filter and everyone is welcome to share.

Required Items to Bring:

Backpacking gear
Food for the duration of the trip
Hydration (we will have a water filter to replenish)

Notes:
There is a $3 parking fee per vehicle
